During the design process of Wolne Miasto we took the assumption that the recreational needs of inhabitants are very diverse and they include not only rest and physical activity, but also personal development, social contacts and also fulfilling their hobby or fun. This entailed the need to implement settlement's recreation area, offering space for both quiet, embedded in the beautiful natural surroundings as well as providing the basis for an active holiday. Wolne Miasto was shaped in the form of a big garden, in which recreation applies to the whole space but at the same time it has intimate nooks to ensure privacy. Vast fields and meadows, gentle hills and the existing pond allow diverse recreational activities for residents of all ages. Whereas family life, we created walking paths and bicycle paths forming a coherent system, connecting the most important place of the town and enables recreation on the occasion of daily duties.
Recreation is also a need for regeneration by contact with the wider range of beauty - not only the existing nature but also cultural elements, including art in the form of educational walking routes, open-air art gallery and thematic gardens. The creation of the central streets, which is a kind of "heart of the town" and run from the entrance square with a fountain in the market and continue to recreational areas, allows the creation of attractive meeting places and leisure activities, animating the space and activating life in housing estates. We are thinking about dedicating site for the playground and tennis courts or artificial skating rink. Outdoor exhibitions, cultural events, neighborhood barbecues, animation playground for children, as well as comprehensive sport activities in the open air - are just a few recreational opportunities. Their variety and scale will depend on the needs of the residents of the Wolne Miasto and their imagination.
Art is also what's natural - beauty, which every day is right next to us. In Wolne Miasto we care for existing local fauna and flora to be preserved as much as possible. In addition, we try to bring values of the nature closer the people and talk about how important it is to care for the environment. That's why we work with the foundation "Polish Birds", reminding every day of the need to protect birds. Through this collaboration, our residents have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the richness and diversity of nature - beautiful photographs in large format, showing the great birds, will soon be posted on all the walls in the hallways and stairways in Wolne Miasto.
Wolne Miasto - a new place on the tourist map of Tri-City
Wolne Miasto is conceived in a place full of life and the varied and unique in the whole Tri-City experience. We create a space to explore and develop the passion to meet and self-fulfillment - open space for art and anyone who is willing to creative leisure activities.
Through cooperation with cultural centers and academies of art we want to initiate artistic events, organize meetings with artists. We want to promote young artists and allow deepening their skills in the visual arts, dance or play an instrument.
We set organizing cultural events, outdoor exhibitions, promotion of young art, to promote social and artistic residents and joint development of space as the goals for ourselves.
An unusual place will welcome you at the entrance of the Free City - kind of a private square where the main street of the Free City begins. Square's centrepiece is an unusual and surprising sculpture - a beautiful fountain representing three horses made of bronze. It's probably a hundred year old baroque sculpture replica from the gardens of France. We are convinced that its special charm will make it one of the main symbols of the Free City. Someone might ask, what's the connection between a baroque sculpture and the name "Free City"? Well, there is none. Maybe except the fact that in the Free City one can expect almost anything...
